I am so excited! I just read this wonderful email:

"July 2015
Dear Kay Crawford,
I am happy to inform you that the jury of selection has accepted the following work for the 2015 Pastel Society of America 43rd Annual Exhibition: Enduring Brilliance!  "Gift"
The jury carefully viewed and considered each anonymous image in a field of 1,365 submissions. They were limited to selecting fewer than 180 works for inclusion. Congratulations on your accomplishment! "

Here is some background information on the PSA from their website:

"A primary mandate of the Pastel Society of America (PSA) is to provide a forum for the exhibition of works by the most accomplished pastel artists in the United States and abroad. The PSA Annual Exhibition: Enduring Brilliance! is held during the month of September in the Grand Gallery of the National Arts Club, a historic mansion located on Gramercy Park, in Manhattan. The society's annual exhibitions are the premier event for pastel artists in this country and abroad...
The exhibition, the culmination of PSA activities for the year, acknowledges the professional excellence of participating artists and helps promote the finest examples of pastel to the general public, the professional art world, art students, and art collectors."

Please be sure to stop by the Governor Hotel this month to see the Olympia Art League show. I was fortunate to have two paintings accepted by the juror, talented artist Kay Barnes. The opening reception is July 12th from 6:00 to 8:00.

And be sure to enjoy the fun at the Capital Lakefair Festival July 16 - 20!

Note: I attended the Opening Reception of the Olympia Art League Art Show and was thrilled to find that I had won Second Place with my pastel painting "Shining Bright"! A big thanks to Judge Kay Barnes for her kind comments and to the OAL for their generous monetary prize!

We had a wonderful time exhibiting at the "Arts of the Mountain" exhibit June 28th and 29th. Great live music, wonderful original art and dedicated art lovers who braved misty weather to enjoy the art.
I laid out my pastels and let people play with the colors and paint their own masterpieces. I was even brave enough to start a new painting there with all the visitors watching. I was shooting for reflections that invited you to dive in...
